It’s a well-known fact that the world’s most powerful leaders are regularly transported by exceptionally specialized aircraft. Some make do with just a single, while others have entire fleets of customized aircrafts at their disposal.

VIP airliners have been prevalent among royals, heads of government, sports teams and business moguls for many years.

The principle purposes behind individuals utilizing private transport ranges from having large entourages or press corps, the advantages of calm terminals, smaller airports, no lines, reliable departure times and just overall convenience & accommodation.

Although Air Force One may be the most well-known private plane used by an administration official, it certainly isn’t the only one.

Here’s a rundown of some of the most impressive fleets used by world leaders:

1. Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani- Qatari Royal fleet (2 billion USD)

The Emir of Qatar takes the number one spot! He has a fleet of 14 aircrafts ( including an Airbus A319-100, three A320-200s, two A330-200s, two Boeing 747-8s, an A310-300, an A340-200, an A340-300 an A340-500 & two planes for private use ) , worth about 2 billion USD, utilized by various individuals of his royal family.

The vast majority of the fleet is painted in the standard livery of the commercial flag carrier of Qatar, Qatar Airways.

The Emir once landed in Japan to meet the head administrator with 10 aircrafts (he additionally holds the record for the most air ships utilized as a part of one state mission/trip).

2. Vladimir Putin- IL-96-300PU ($ 500 000 000)

In second place, Vladimir Putin. The Presidential air squad of Russia is comprised of four of the president‘s first-choice aircraft rather than one. This is not because of reliability, but rather for security.

When knowledge of an international flight is public, every one of the four aircrafts are prepared for take-off. The specific plane to be utilized by Vladimir Putin isn’t known until take-off. After the decision is made, all three of the remaining aircrafts take off after the president as reserves.

So therefore on state visits, there are 4 identical aircraft in total, to conceal which one the leader is in.

The entire fleet however, comprises of around 132 aircrafts and helicopters. The Russian President holds the record for the largest fleet.

3. Donald Trump- Air Force One ($ 1 000 000 000)

The President of the United States has 3 aircrafts, a Boeing 747200B (which was the first double-decker, long-haul, wide-bodied passenger airplane in the world), a VC 25A and a Boeing C-32.

4. Theresa May- Airbus A330 ($250 000 000)

Contrasted with the air administration focuses of different leaders of nuclear powers, the aircraft of the United Kingdom is generally an ordinary passenger plane, with some minor modifications in the cabin arranging and in-flight refuelling capacities.

The main body of the aircraft cabin is occupied by 58 business class seats created for the accommodation of ministers and their representatives. The tail portion is occupied by 100 economy class seats, made for the journalists publicising the work of the Ministry Cabinet.

5. Xi Jinping- Two B747-400 ($ 250 000 000)

The President of China utilizes two B747-400s. Both of the carriers are used for regular passenger flights by Air China airlines.

However, when the president plans an upcoming foreign visit, the airplanes are precisely inspected by the leader’s security service, which may take up to 2 months.

After the examinations, the aircraft are sent to refitting amid which a portion of the cabin’s seats are dismantled and replaced with an open living room, a bedroom and office.

Why hasn’t the president of the People’s Republic gotten his own permanent aircraft?

This inquiry has already been raised quite a bit, but I guess that is a topic for another day.
